It is a delicious and traditional milk dessert at every Odia house. Some places, it may be called '' Ganyeetha Khiri”. The preparation is very simple, healthy and the test is awesome. As this is a very special prasad to Goddess Laxmi, every Odia woman offers Kira Ganyeetha to Goddess Laxmi in Margasira masa Gurubar(on Thursday). The ingredients are very minimal to start the Khiri.
Let’s start….
Ingredients:
- 250 grams rice flour
- 100 ml water
- 150 grams sugar
- 500 ml milk
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 25 grams coconut pieces
- 2/3 cardamom
- a pinch of food karpoor
- ½ tbsp salt
- a wide container
Process:
- Place a wide container on a stove and add 100 ml of water to boil
- Then add salt and ½ spoon ghee
- Slow down the stove
- Now slowly add 250 grams rice flour in boiling water and try to mix everything
- Off the stove and let it cool down the mixture
- Again in a wide container pour 500ml milk and make it boil
- Add sugar, 2/3 crushed cardamom, food karpoor and 25 grams coconut pieces
- Same time, mash the rice flour nicely with sprinkle water and make a smooth dove
- Now make small round balls or oval shape and add in boil milk
- Allow to boil with milk 10 mints
- Slowly the small round balls start floating on the top
- Stop the stove and let’s rest for normal temperature
- Ready to serve the Khira Ganyeetha
