Odia Society Of Singapore

Our Journey Since 1998

The Odia Society of Singapore (OSS) has been a home away from home for Odias in Singapore since 1998.

Founded in 1998 by a small group of Odia expatriates, OSS was established with a vision to create a strong sense of belonging, community, and connection to Odisha among Odias living in Singapore.

OSS is a non-political, non-profit, and voluntary community organisation dedicated to bringing people together and fostering a vibrant and inclusive Odia community.

Our key focus is to promote and enhance the educational, intellectual, social, cultural, and overall well-being of our members and the wider Odia community. Through cultural celebrations, educational initiatives, social gatherings, knowledge-sharing activities, and community engagement, OSS provides a platform for Odias to connect with one another while preserving and celebrating our rich heritage and traditions.

For more than 25 years, OSS has continued to build bridges between generations, nurture our Odia identity and heritage, and strengthen the enduring “Odisha Connection” for Odias in Singapore and beyond.

What We Stand For

Odia Society Singapore (OSS) is a non-political, secular, and non-profit community organisation that serves as a resource centre for Odias in Singapore and abroad. We strive to preserve and promote Odia heritage, language, culture, knowledge, and traditions while creating opportunities for the community to connect, learn, serve, and grow together.

Non-Political & Secular

OSS is committed to being an inclusive, non-political, and secular organisation, welcoming people from all backgrounds and beliefs. We provide a common platform where the Odia community can come together in a spirit of friendship, mutual respect, and harmony.

Education & Intellectual Growth

OSS promotes education, knowledge sharing, and intellectual development by encouraging learning, discussions, seminars, and access to educational and cultural resources. We aim to inspire curiosity, lifelong learning, and the exchange of ideas within the community.

Cultural & Social Connection

OSS works to preserve, celebrate, and promote Odisha's rich heritage and traditions. Through cultural programmes, festivals, social gatherings, and community activities, we create opportunities for Odias in Singapore to stay connected with their "Odisha Connection" and pass our heritage on to future generations.

Community Service & Charity

OSS believes in giving back to society and contributing to the wider Singapore community. We actively engage in charitable and community-service initiatives, working with organisations and partners to support those in need. Our initiatives include festive goodie pack distribution in collaboration with SINDA, food distribution initiatives supporting migrant workers, and participation in community and cultural initiatives such as the Rath Yatra in collaboration with ISKCON. Through these efforts, we encourage our members to serve, share, and make a positive difference in the community.
