Q: What is Eid Milad-un-Nabi & when it is celebrated?
A: Eid Milad-un-Nabi is celebrated by Muslims all around the world every year on the 12th day of the third month of Rabi-ul-Awwal (Arabic: رَبِيع ٱلْأَوَّل, Rabīʿ al-Awwal) in the Islamic lunar hijri calendar. The name Rabī‘ al-Awwal means "the first [month] or beginning of spring", referring to its position in the pre-Islamic Arabian calendar. This day is celebrated as the birthday of the most beloved, the last and the final messenger of God almighty, Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him), who was sent to the whole of universe as a mercy for all the creations.

A: It is celebrated to mark the birth of our beloved prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him), who taught and showed us how to lead our lives purposefully and enlightened us with the divine decree sent by God for the whole of mankind which is called as the Islamic holy book Qur'an. All his life till date, the practices and teachings of the final messenger of god, Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him), have been a torch bearer for humanity. They provide guidance in living a life with the highest of moralities along with recognizing and fulfilling the rights of oneself and all others around us in our daily lives.

A: Not only Muslims but the people who have thoroughly studied about prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him) know this day and celebrate in one form or the other. Mostly people organize a peaceful procession with green flags and sign boards having the sayings of prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him) written on it. Various kinds of food and drinks are made and served to the public. Many celebrate it by keeping a fast from dawn to dusk and do not eat or drink during this time and indulge in the singing of praises and narrating the life story of prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him) while taking inspiration and motivation from the life story.
