As many of us are aware, in the houses of those who celebrate Christmas, a Christmas tree is put up which is actually pine trees that come in various shapes and sizes. These Christmas trees are well decorated with ornaments, streamers, tinsel and many more. In order to finish decorating the tree, a star is placed at the very top of the tree. After that, multiple presents that have been neatly wrapped are placed under the tree. The gifts are then opened on Christmas morning by the children in the house.

What are some beliefs that children have on Christmas?

There are many beliefs that children have during the festive season but the most common belief is Santa Claus. Just like the Tooth Fairy, children believe that Santa Claus is real. Their Santa Claus has a big belly and a long white beard, dresses up in a red suit with a big black belt, black boots and a soft red cap with white fur. They believe that Santa comes in the night after everyone is asleep to keep the children’s presents. He comes in through the chimney of the house and places little gifts in the stockings near the fireplace while placing the big gifts under the tree. The children also believe that if they have been good all year, they would be on Santa’s good list but if they have been bad all year, they would be on Santa’s naughty list. This way, the children try to stay good the entire year in order to receive nice presents from Santa. As they believe in Santa, they leave a glass of milk and cookies near the chimney as they believe that Santa would get hungry and eat the cookies and the milk. When the children wake up in the morning, they see their stockings filled with goodies and presents under the Christmas tree and think that Santa has placed all of the gifts but in fact it is their parents.
